A light battery pruning shear that does the squeezing for you, and an aluminium grafting tool whose cuts fit together
4.86 reviewsThis item is sold through a page in your own language, with the price in your currency. Choose your country to order it.
Each order: Cordless pruning shear with 2 batteries and an aluminium grafting tool in a fitted case, with 7 accessories as a gift
The pruning shear has a brushless motor that closes the blade for you: you press the trigger with one finger and the hand stays open. It weighs 800 g with the battery, which sits in the handle so the weight stays close to your hand. It cuts green wood up to 4 cm in one go and thicker dry wood in two passes, with an SK5 steel bypass blade that cuts clean instead of crushing the bark. The trigger is progressive, the blade opens in three steps for thin shoots, and a double-tap lock keeps it safe; let go and the blade stops and opens.
Two 21 V max (18 V nominal) 2.0 Ah batteries give about 3,000 cuts per charge and up to 8 hours of work together, and one recharges in about 45 minutes while you use the other. The display shows the charge left and the cuts made.
The grafting tool has an aluminium body and steel levers, so it does not flex on a branch at its limit. Its omega blade cuts the scion and the rootstock to the same shape, so the two pieces slot into each other and the barks meet; the V and U blades cover cleft grafts and thin shoots, and three spare blades are included. Grafting tape, copper grafting paste, gloves, a belt holster, a sharpening stone, a spare pruner blade and an illustrated guide come in the fitted case. Every piece is covered by the 24-month legal guarantee.

Bought it for my father who is 78. He prunes on his own again and last spring he grafted two new apple varieties on his old tree.

Used it in the vineyard for the spurs. Clean cuts, and I change battery at lunch. The grafting tool is metal, not the plastic kind that bends.

My hands could not take the old secateurs any more. With this one I pruned the whole orchard, forty trees, in three mornings. It is light and the battery lasts.

I had never grafted before. The tool cuts both pieces to the same shape, you push them together and wrap the tape. Eight of my nine grafts on the plum tree took.
