What it does in your home
Fill the tank, wait about ten minutes for the steam, then hold the plate on the wall for a few seconds. The steam goes through the paper and softens the paste, and the paper comes away with a scraper.
Work from the bottom up: the steam rises and prepares the next strip while you scrape. A 4 litre tank gives about 70 minutes of steam before refilling.
Painted or vinyl wallpaper steams better if you first score it lightly. Wear gloves and let the plate rest on its stand between walls.
